Hardware Sacco Ltd was registered in 1976, with 25 members, drawn from Doshi Enterprise Ltd and Doshi & Company Membership has steadily grown. Members’ deposits have progressively risen to more than Kshs.100 million while, loans to members are over Kshs.100 million. The society has acquired an office within Miritini Estate and has full-time employees.

Our History

Hardware Sacco was Started and Registered in the Oct 1976 by 15 members who were all employees of Doshi Hardware Shop with the aim of bettering their economic conditions. Having been in operation for 43 years, the Sacco was majorly for Doshi Employees and until the year 2015 when we opened a "Common Bond" so as to be able to accommodate others who wanted to join but were not employees of Doshi. Ever since we have witnessed a rise in membership covering people from all walks of life.

Objectives of the SACCO

The objectives for which this society was established is to promote the economic interest of the members in accordance with the co-operative principle and particularly

  1. To promote thrift among its members by affording them opportunity accumulating their savings and deposits and create thereby a source of funds from which loans can be made available to them for purposes of providence or production or both at a fair and reasonable rate of interest.
  2. To provide an opportunity for each of its members to improve his/her respective economic and social conditions
  3. To ensure safety and soundness of members funds through risk management programme or any other appropriate insurance scheme
  4. To ensure progress of its members by educating them continuously on proper use of savings and credit
  5. To perform all those functions and exercise these powers designated for SACCO under the applicable Law for the benefit of members and the community.
