December 9, 2024Hardware SACCO Limited with membership drawn across the country wishes to fill the
vacant position of SACCO Manager on a Fixed Term Contract Basis to be based in
Mombasa-Miritini.
Position Summary
Reporting to Sacco Board of Director, the SACCO Manager is responsible for the overall
management and strategic direction of the SACCO, ensuring compliance with the Sacco
Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) guidelines, financial performance, member
satisfaction, and growth. This includes managing day-to-day operations, implementing
policies, delivering sustainable value to the SACCO and its members and generating reports
and reporting to the Board.
Key Duties/ Responsibilities
1.Strategic Leadership and Planning
Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the SACCO’s goals and
objectives in line with the Board’s directives.
Lead and inspire the SACCO team to meet performance targets and uphold
organizational values.
Provide regular updates and reports to the Board on performance, risks, and
emerging trends.
2.Financial Management
Ensure prudent management of SACCO finances, including budgeting,
forecasting, and financial reporting.
Oversee loan portfolio management to maintain healthy financial performance
and minimize default rates.
Ensure compliance with SASRA regulations, including capital adequacy,
liquidity, and reporting requirements.
3.Membership Growth and Service Delivery
Develop and implement strategies to attract new members and retain existing
ones.
Ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality service delivery to members.
Monitor feedback and address member concerns to maintain high satisfaction
levels.
4.Operations Management
Supervise day-to-day SACCO operations, including loans processing, savings
mobilization, and customer service.
Oversee the development and implementation of operational policies and
procedures.

regulatory requirements.
5.Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure full compliance with SASRA regulations, the SACCO Act, and other
relevant laws.
Implement robust risk management frameworks to mitigate financial,
operational, and legal risks.
Facilitate external audits and regulatory inspections, addressing any
recommendations effectively.
6.Human Resource Management
Lead, mentor, and appraise SACCO staff to maintain a productive and
motivated team.
Oversee staff recruitment, training, and development in line with organizational
needs.
Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous
improvement.
7.Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with the Board of Directors, members, regulators, auditors, and other
stakeholders effectively.
Represent the SACCO in industry forums, regulatory engagements, and
member events.
8. Reports and Reporting:
Ensure accurate, timely, and transparent reporting on financial, operational, and
strategic matters.
Prepare performance reports for internal and external stakeholders, including
regulators and partners.
Monitor and report on the achievement of strategic and operational goals.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and improve Sacco
outcomes.
Academic and Professional Qualifications and experience required
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
At least 5 years of progressive experience in financial services, with at least 3 years in
a managerial role.
Strong understanding of Sacco operations, Kenyan financial regulations (including
SASRA guidelines), and cooperative principles.
Familiarity with relevant laws, including the Co-operatives Act and SASRA
regulations.
Proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, and risk management.

Self-starter, high energy level with strong interpersonal, verbal and written
communication skills, including stakeholder engagement
